13 Ordinary Women’s Phrases That Blow the Mind of Any Man Using the following phrases, women always pursue one goal – to understand their beloved men a little better. I want to understand you.” What he hears: “I want to know everything to the finest details!” Everyone ignores me. What you mean: “Today, it seems to me that no…

Arts and Crafts You Can Do with Your Girlfriend
Do you have any hobbies that you enthusiastically pursue in your free time? Each person should have his own hobby – millions of psychologists around the world agree with this. Any hobby, even the simplest and most primitive, serves as a kind of outlet for a woman, which allows her to escape from the usual fuss, monotonous affairs, and everyday routine. Regular exercises with what you love do not pass without a trace, because they give a good mood and a peculiar charge of vivacity. Social networks and the Internet, which have captivated modern life, practically do not leave people free time for hobbies – some even believe that the…

Dear Baby, At the risk of sounding like a “Everything I need to know in life, my baby taught me” poster, I have written you this letter. It isn’t that everything a baby does is great fodder for life instruction (licking people’s shoulders is awkward and being completely dependent on others is a terrible life strategy after about the first year), but your presence – your simple and immaculate art of being alive – continues to bowl me over with wisdom. I look at you and see the child who needs many things, things which we will have to provide, things you cannot yet provide for yourself. I see the neediness, the appropriate…

Let it be simple.
Simple medicine, the most powerful kind.A few weeks ago, on a normal afternoon, I was doing a very normal thing, except that as I was walking, something profound happened. I was walking, pushing the stroller with my four month old baby in it, and as I rounded a corner of the manmade track around the playground, I looked down at her and a giant fucking learning moment transpired, and though I knew it was deep, deep wisdom in the moment, it’s taken me weeks to figure it out. To articulate it…properly. Because how do you explain to people the depth of awe you felt, when what “happened” was so…small? So…simple? Here is what happened: She…

On beginnings.
Rule #1 about teaching. About other people’s children. DON’T BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT ME, AND I WON’T BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT YOU. I’m chuckling, as this applies just as much to this moment that just transpired, in which my second grader came running up to me after school and announced: “Our teacher gave us skittles for going home and telling our parents we have the best teacher ever.” School has started again, for almost all of us. For me, the beginning of a second year of teaching High School. This brings up a lot of emotions in me. Some pride (because I’ve barely had time to do a…

If it takes a year…
Once upon a time I was a half marathon runner. I was also addicted to exercise, anorexic and teetering on clinical exhaustion. I refused to let my body rest when it needed it, and I suffered for it. I would take “breaks” that weren’t real breaks. When I did take a “Break,” I would leap back into activity and push myself even harder, because I took a break. Eventually, I stopped being able to use my right leg to drive, and I couldn’t sleep because of the pains in it waking me up. You would think that I learned my lesson. But the thing is, even after all that, even…
